New Palm Desert Library Planned for Civic Center Park

A new library is coming to Palm Desert, with construction expected to begin soon at Civic Center Park.

City officials say the existing building at the site will be demolished to make room for a modern facility featuring more than 20,000 square feet of library space. The project will also include a new community building designed to host educational programs, events, and public gatherings.

Funding for the project will come in part from Measure G, which voters approved to support local infrastructure and community enhancements.

Once completed, the new Palm Desert Library is expected to serve as a central hub for learning and community activities in the city.

Officials say the upgraded facility is projected to open its doors to the public in 2028.
