A Rare Aaron Judge Card Just Sold for $5.2 Million, Setting a Modern Baseball Card Record

A rare Aaron Judge baseball card sold for $5.2 million in a private sale through Fanatics Collect, setting a new record for a modern baseball card.
The card is a 2013 Bowman Chrome Draft Pick Autographs Superfractor, a one-of-one card featuring Judge's autograph from the year the New York Yankees selected him in the first round of the MLB Draft. Because only one exists, collectors call it a "superfractor," the rarest version of any Bowman Chrome card produced.
The sale tops the previous modern record of $3.8 million, set by a 2009 Mike Trout card. For context, a Shohei Ohtani card sold for $3 million, meaning Judge's card now sits more than $2 million above the Dodgers superstar's highest known sale.
Judge, now one of baseball's biggest stars, has been an outfielder for the Yankees since 2016.
