Live Nation Antitrust Trial Back On After Settlement Talks Fall Through

The Live Nation antitrust trial is back on. The ticketing giant failed to reach a settlement with more than 30 state attorneys general, and a judge confirmed Friday that the states have dropped their motion for a mistrial.
The civil trial, which began earlier this month, was thrown into uncertainty this week when the Justice Department and Live Nation announced they had reached a settlement, catching both the judge and the states off guard.
A representative for the states said five of them did ultimately reach settlements with Live Nation on similar terms as the DOJ deal, though the remaining states were unable to come to an agreement.
The trial will resume Monday with witness testimony.
