Augustine Casino Showcases Young Coachella Valley Artists at Seven Feathers Gallery
Young artists from the East Valley are taking center stage at Augustine Casino with a new exhibit at its Seven Feathers Gallery. The showcase features 8th grade art students from Toro Canyon Middle School in Thermal and is titled Mi Gente Mi Tierra, or “My People, My Land.”
The exhibit gives students an opportunity to explore their connections to culture, family traditions, and the desert landscape they call home. Through vibrant paintings and creative pieces, the collection offers a unique perspective on life in the Coachella Valley from the eyes of local youth.
Gallery organizers say the show is a way to provide a platform for artists who may not otherwise have the opportunity to display their work publicly. Employees and visitors alike get to experience new artwork every few months, reflecting the region’s rich culture and artistic talent.
“This exhibit really allows people to see the culture and art of the Coachella Valley,” a gallery representative said. “It’s important to showcase local voices and perspectives, especially from young artists.”
Students and families are invited to enjoy the gallery and appreciate the creativity and heritage captured in each piece. Those interested in submitting student artwork for future exhibits can visit the Augustine Casino website for application details.
