Papa Dan’s Pizza & Pasta Reopens in Palm Desert After Devastating Fire

A beloved Coachella Valley restaurant has officially reopened its doors after a devastating fire forced it to close nearly two years ago.

Papa Dan’s Pizza & Pasta held a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at its location along Country Club Drive in Palm Desert with over 100 people in attendance.

Papa Dan’s originally opened in 1984 and was just shy of its 40th anniversary when a fire destroyed the restaurant in April 2024 along with several nearby businesses in the same shopping center.

While the restaurant remains in the same marketplace, its new space is now located on the opposite end of the center near the Mobil gas station.

Supporters say the restaurant has always been an important gathering place in the community, and many believe the support following the fire will help the business come back even stronger.
