Yucca Valley Film Festival Accepting Submissions for 8th Annual Event This November
The Yucca Valley Film Festival is preparing for its 8th annual event this November, and organizers are now accepting film submissions from creators across the region and beyond.
Festival co-founder Matt Beurois says the event has grown steadily over the past eight years, thanks in large part to strong support from the High Desert community. Each year, the festival showcases between 45 and 75 films during a packed three-day weekend of screenings, panels, and masterclasses.
The festival runs continuously from Friday evening through Sunday at the Yucca Valley Community Center, which is transformed into a full film festival venue complete with red carpet areas, photo stations, and screening spaces.
Organizers are primarily seeking short films under 20 minutes in length, including documentaries, animation, music videos, comedies, dramas, and more. Submissions are open to both first-time filmmakers and seasoned professionals, with entries arriving from across the country.
Beurois says the festival prides itself on giving equal opportunity to emerging and established creators alike. Past participants have gone on to earn major recognition, including Academy Award shortlists and winners in animation categories.
While the event draws strong participation from High Desert filmmakers, organizers are encouraging creators from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and the Low Desert to submit their work.
