Cielo Vista Charter School Earns First-Ever Wellness Recognition in Palm Springs
A major milestone for student wellness in Palm Springs as Cielo Vista Charter School becomes the first school in the city to receive a special recognition for promoting health and well-being.
The celebration kicked off with a community walk from Demuth Park to campus, where hundreds of students and families participated to encourage active lifestyles and strengthen community connections.
Festivities continued with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local leaders and community partners, highlighting the school’s commitment to building a culture centered on wellness.
Through its partnership with the Blue Zones Project, the school will expand programs focused on healthy living. Initiatives include cooking classes for students and families, a school garden, a monthly “walking school bus,” and hands-on education about nutrition and physical activity.
Organizers say the goal is to empower students with the tools and mindset needed to lead healthy, fulfilling lives both inside and outside the classroom.
The recognition marks a significant step forward in fostering long-term wellness habits for the next generation.
