An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, March 19, 2026!
Heat advisories continue for a large area of the Southwest through this weekend.
This is the last full-day of Winter as Spring officially arrives at 7:46a on Friday.
The Coachella Valley will be under cloud-free skies today and tomorrow with very dry air and above-normal high temperatures just below 110° both days.
You can still expect lots of sunshine and another hot day on Saturday as highs will again surpass 105°.
Because of this unprecedented heat wave, numerous high temperature records will once again be set over the Southwest each afternoon into this weekend.
A weakening trough of low pressure will fall-apart as it approaches Southern California early next week, but it will subtract a few degrees... emphasis on the word 'few.' Those Valley highs are expected to hover around 100° most of next week.
My Long-Range Forecast: There is the possibility a Pacific low pressure center will move across the Southwest on April 1st. (No April Fools.) But, since this outlook is a couple of weeks away, there will be changes. Stay tuned!
