Fitness Meets Adoption at “Pedal for Pups” Event

Animal shelters across the Coachella Valley are facing a growing need to place dogs in loving homes and one local business is stepping up with a creative solution.

Surf Cycle is partnering with Desert Paws Sanctuary for a special event called Pedal for Pups, combining fitness and pet adoption efforts.

The event takes place Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., inviting the community to participate in cycling workouts while also meeting adoptable dogs. A $15 drop-in fee helps support the cause.

Organizers say the goal is simple: get people active while helping dogs find forever homes. With shelters currently at capacity, events like this are critical in creating space for more animals in need.

Rescue leaders say adopting even one dog can make a ripple effect, opening up room for another animal to be saved.

Community members are encouraged to stop by, break a sweat, and maybe even leave with a new four-legged companion.
