Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Attempted Sexual Assault in Whitewater

A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for an attempted sexual assault in Whitewater.

Prosecutors say 55-year-old Bryan Vines Burge pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault by fear in connection with an August 2025 attack at Guide Dogs of the Desert.

Investigators say Burge forced his way onto the property, threatened the victim with a knife, and attempted to assault her. Authorities say the victim was able to escape and call for help.

Deputies later located and arrested Burge nearby.

Officials say the victim did suffer injuries during the incident but did not require hospitalization.

The case has now concluded with Burge receiving a 25-year prison sentence.
