An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, March 20, 2026!
As a large upper-level ridge of high pressure sits over Southern California, the Coachella Valley will once again see midday temps today heat-up to around 25-degrees above seasonal levels this afternoon. In some cases, those numbers will come very close to 110°. And -- again -- high temp records will be set for our area.
A frontal boundary will begin to approach the Southwest on Saturday, then falls apart as it nears Southern California on Sunday. But it will subtract a few degrees, pull-in fair-weather high clouds, and kick-up on-shore winds for this weekend.
Valley highs will level-off around the 100-degree mark during all of next week. That's still very warm for this time of year. To put it in perspective, Palm Springs' normal late-March high is 82°.
It's been an extremely hot last few days of Winter here in Southern California. Oh, and by-the-way, Spring officially arrives at 7:46 this morning.
