Massive Animal Rescue Operation Underway in Los Angeles County

A massive animal rescue operation is underway in Los Angeles County, where officials are removing hundreds of animals from a property in Lake Hughes, about 65 miles north of Los Angeles.

Authorities say approximately 700 dogs and cats are being rescued following the issuance of a warrant tied to alleged violations of animal welfare laws.

Officials believe this may be the largest number of cats and dogs ever seized in a single operation, possibly one of the largest cases of its kind in U.S. history.

At this time, it is unclear whether any arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Rescue teams are now working to transport, care for, and rehabilitate the animals. Authorities are also asking for the public’s support as shelters and organizations take in the large number of animals requiring medical attention and long-term care.
