National Parks Are Free This August, and There's More to Celebrate Than Just a Birthday

The National Park Service is marking America's 250th birthday in a big way this August, with a week of special events planned across all 433 national park sites in the country.
National Park Week runs August 22 through August 30, and every state and U.S. territory has at least one site participating. Throughout the week, parks will host a slate of special programming and events open to the public.
The highlight for budget-conscious visitors: entrance fees are waived on August 25, which marks the 110th birthday of the National Park Service itself. That's one free day to get outside, no pass required.
