Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills Signals Upcoming Departure
Palm Springs Police Department Chief Andy Mills is signaling he will soon step away from his leadership role.
In a social media post this week, Mills shared that he is taking steps to sell his home, writing, “it’s time to find my next mission.” He ensured that he is not resigning or retiring just yet, but instead beginning a transition period.
Mills says he has been working internally to prepare the department for what comes next, focusing on succession planning and ensuring strong leadership is in place.
In an interview with Fred Roggin, Mills acknowledged that stepping down is the eventual goal, saying he believes the department is ready to continue moving forward under new leadership.
He also thanked city leaders and members of his department, describing them as compassionate and committed to serving the community.
A timeline for his departure has not yet been announced.
