An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, March 21, 2026!

An Extreme Heat Warning continues for the Coachella Valley area through 8p this evening.

As a large upper-level ridge of high pressure continues to provide sinking air over the Southwest, Valley temperatures will once again surpass 100-degrees this afternoon.

Also -- as upper-level clouds slowly thicken -- on-shore winds will become a bit gusty this afternoon into the evening hours.

As that upper-high continues to weaken, Valley high temps will begin to lower... but only slightly. You can expect a mix of Sun and clouds on Sunday with midday temps around 101°, followed by sunny skies on Monday and Tuesday with highs closer to 99°.

Keep in mind, Palm Springs' normal high temperatures this time of year in 82°.

Long-Range Outlook; It looks like a trough will move through the Southwest pulling-down Valley highs into the lower-80s on April 1st. No foolin'! Stay tuned!
