Free Pet Adoptions Offered in Palm Desert for National Adoption Week

In celebration of National Adoption Week, Riverside County Animal Services is teaming up with PetSmart Charities to host a free pet adoption event, made possible by a $25,000 grant aimed at improving animal health and adoption rates.

The event takes place March 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PetSmart on Monterey Avenue, where community members can meet adoptable pets and give them a new home.

All adoption fees will be waived, and each pet will come fully prepared for their new family, complete with spay or neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, and engraved ID tags.

Officials say the partnership has already made a big impact, helping more than 260 pets find homes last year alone.

Organizers hope this year’s event will continue that success, encouraging more residents to adopt and give local shelter animals a second chance.
