Modernism Week Draws Global Crowd, Boosts Coachella Valley Economy
Modernism Week continues to showcase its global reach, drawing more than 111,000 attendees to this year’s 11-day celebration across Greater Palm Springs.
Event organizers say the 2026 festival generated an estimated $62 million in economic impact, adding to a total contribution that has reached hundreds of millions over the past two decades.
The annual event featured nearly 500 programs, including home tours, lectures, films, and exhibitions highlighting the region’s iconic mid-century modern architecture and design.
Beyond tourism, officials say the festival is also investing in the future. Modernism Week continues to award scholarships to local students pursuing careers in architecture and design, helping cultivate the next generation of creatives in the Coachella Valley.
Organizers say the continued growth of the event not only strengthens the local economy but also reinforces the desert’s reputation as a global hub for modernist design.
