Evacuation Orders Lifted as Almond Fire Near Cabazon Comes Under Control

Evacuation orders have been lifted in Cabazon after firefighters gained control of the Almond Fire, easing concerns for residents in the area.

The fire was first reported shortly before 2 p.m. near Almond Street and Bonita Avenue, prompting a rapid response from roughly a dozen fire engines. Crews worked to contain the flames and prevent further spread as conditions developed throughout the afternoon.

Fire officials confirmed that no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. The quick response helped limit the fire’s impact, allowing authorities to lift evacuation orders within hours of the initial call.

While the immediate threat has subsided, crews are expected to remain at the scene for several hours to mop up lingering hot spots and ensure the fire is fully extinguished. Officials say this phase is critical to preventing flare-ups that could reignite under changing conditions.
