Overnight Lane Closures on Highway 111 in Indio Through Thursday

Construction crews are working overnight on Highway 111 in Indio this week, sealing asphalt cracks along a stretch of the road from Madison Street to Jackson Street. The work runs nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, March 26.

The City of Indio says the project is preventative maintenance, meant to extend the life of the roadway and avoid more costly repairs down the line.

Drivers heading through that stretch should expect lane closures during work hours. Three intersections, at Highway 111 and Madison Street, Clinton Street, and Las Palmas Road, will switch to flashing red mode while crews are on the ground. Anyone passing through those signals should treat them as a four-way stop.

The city is asking drivers to slow down in the work zone, watch for crews and equipment, and give themselves extra time for their commute.
