18-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Mecca Tuesday Night

An 18-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Mecca on Tuesday evening.

Deputies from the Thermal Sheriff's Station responded just before 8 p.m. to the intersection of Coahuilla Street and 6th Street, where they found Anjel Rodriguez, a resident of nearby Thermal, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, though no arrests have been made at this time.
