Felony Hit-and-Run Case Against Former CEO Delayed Until April

At the Indio Larson Justice Center, Palm Springs resident and former Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez appeared in court for a scheduled felony settlement conference tied to a hit-and-run case involving a Cathedral City resident.

The hearing, which was expected to help determine dates for preliminary proceedings, has now been pushed back to April 6.

Rodriguez’s attorney, Molly Tucker, requested the delay, citing concerns over missing evidence from the prosecution. According to the defense, several key items have yet to be provided, including an autopsy report, digital evidence collected from the scene, video footage, and a witness statement from the night of the incident.

Following the hearing, Tucker declined to speak on camera but indicated the postponement was necessary to allow time to obtain and review the outstanding materials. She also emphasized the importance of ensuring all evidence is accounted for before moving forward.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has not commented on whether a plea deal is being considered, stating they cannot disclose information about an ongoing case.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez continues to assert his innocence. His legal team says they are prepared to take the case to trial if necessary. The defense also noted that investigators never interviewed Rodriguez during the course of the investigation—an assertion that has not been confirmed by the Cathedral City Police Department, which declined to comment due to the active case.

Rodriguez is not required to appear at the next hearing on April 6, where a new timeline for preliminary hearings is expected to be set.
