Felony Settlement Conference Delayed in Deadly Cathedral City Hit-and-Run Case
A felony settlement conference for Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez has been delayed in connection to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Cathedral City.
Rodriguez appeared at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, where the hearing was expected to move the case forward. Instead, the conference has been pushed back to April 6.
The delay comes as both sides work through outstanding evidence. According to Rodriguez’s attorney, several key pieces of digital evidence are still missing, including the victim’s medical records and a statement from the night of the incident.
Rodriguez is facing felony charges tied to the crash that killed 60-year-old Christina Barrington.
His attorney says Rodriguez maintains his innocence and expects the case to proceed to trial. She also noted he is not expected to appear at the rescheduled conference next month.
A felony settlement conference is typically used to determine readiness for preliminary hearings and explore whether a case can be resolved before trial.
Officials say updates will continue as the case develops.
