Cabazon Mother Accused of Killing Infant Son Due in Court Thursday

Rebecca Haro, the Cabazon mother accused of murdering her infant son Emmanuel and lying to authorities about it, is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for a felony settlement conference. She continues to maintain a not guilty plea to murder and filing a false police report.

The case began last August when Rebecca and her husband Jake Haro reported Emmanuel had been kidnapped in Yucaipa. Investigators later determined the report was false, and deputies arrested the couple, accusing them of killing the child.

Jake Haro pleaded guilty in October to murder and other charges and was sentenced in November to 25 years to life in state prison, the maximum sentence allowed. Rebecca's case is still moving through the courts.

The remains of baby Emmanuel have not been found.

NBC Palm Springs will bring updates as this case develops.
