AMDOCS Film Festival Continues in Palm Springs

It’s an exciting weekend for film lovers in the desert as the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival, better known as AMDOCS — is well underway in Palm Springs.

The festival is taking place at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, where organizers have transformed the space into a hub for documentary and animated storytelling from around the world.

Festival founder Teddy Grouya says AMDOCS stands out not only for its global reach, welcoming more than 200 filmmakers, but also for its strong focus on community engagement. The event offers educational outreach programs for students and seniors, many of them free to attend.

In addition to international films, the festival is also spotlighting local talent. Student filmmakers from schools like Palm Springs High School and Cathedral City High School are showcasing their work, with special screenings and awards recognizing their creativity.

Organizers say the goal is to inspire the next generation of storytellers while celebrating diverse voices from short animations to full-length documentaries and even music videos.

The festival runs throughout the weekend, giving attendees a chance to experience a wide range of films and connect with filmmakers right here in the Coachella Valley.
