Bed Rails Sold on Amazon and in Medical Supply Stores Recalled After Two Deaths

Three models of bed rails made by Vive Health have been recalled after two men in their 90s died after becoming trapped in them.

The rails, which were sold through medical supply stores and Amazon between 2019 and 2025, pose a risk of people getting stuck within the rail itself or wedged between the rail and the mattress. More than 120,000 units were sold across the affected models.

The recall is complicated by the fact that not all rails carry visible model numbers or brand labels, making it difficult for owners to confirm what they have. Vive Health has posted the impacted models on its website, but if you think you may own one of the affected rails, the safest step is to contact the company directly for a possible refund.
