Court Hearing Delayed in DUI Murder Case Involving Former Palm Springs Employee

A court appearance for a former employee of the Palm Springs Police Department has been delayed in connection to a deadly crash.

Juliana Granados appeared at the Larson Justice Center in Indio for a trial readiness conference, which has now been continued. She is expected back in court on June 29.

Granados faces multiple charges, including Watson DUI murder and vehicular manslaughter, stemming from a Thanksgiving Day crash in 2024.

Prosecutors allege Granados fatally struck off-duty Palm Springs Community Service Officer Nicholas Griego.

Investigators say the two had been at a restaurant together prior to the incident, and Granados was following Griego, whom she considered a friend, back to his home at the time of the crash.

Granados is currently out on bail. Following her court appearance, she declined to comment when approached by reporters.

The case remains ongoing as it moves closer to trial.
