John Legend talks tour, new projects ahead of Fantasy Springs stop

Award-winning artist John Legend is bringing his signature sound, along with personal storytelling, to the Coachella Valley.

The multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer joined NBC Palm Springs anchor Mary Strong to talk about his upcoming tour, “An Evening with John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories,” which stops at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on April 4.

Legend says this tour offers fans a more intimate experience than his previous shows, blending some of his biggest hits with the personal stories behind them.

“This is a chance for fans to hear the music in a different way and get a deeper look into the journey behind the songs,” he shared. Beyond the tour, Legend is also expanding his creative reach. He is producing a reimagined version of the iconic Broadway musical Cats, which is set to open April 7. He says the opportunity to revisit such a well-known production was one he could not pass up.

In addition to music and theater, Legend is making an impact in publishing through his company, Get Lifted Books. One of the latest projects includes “The Well-Educated Child,” a collaboration with Dr. Deborah Kenny that aims to inspire families and educators. Fans can also catch Legend back on The Voice, where he joins fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine. Legend says returning to the show continues to be a rewarding experience, especially as he mentors rising talent.

As for his upcoming stop in Indio, Legend says he is excited to connect with fans in a more personal setting. Tickets for “An Evening with John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories” are available now through the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino website.
