Palm Springs Names New Director of Sustainability

The City of Palm Springs has named Jasmine Fields as its new Director of Sustainability, a role focused on advancing environmental initiatives across the city.

Officials say Fields brings a strong background in climate action, renewable energy, and environmental conservation. Her previous work with the Pennsylvania Mountain Corps included collaborating with local communities on sustainability-focused projects.

City leaders believe her experience will be especially valuable as Palm Springs continues to address challenges tied to extreme heat and limited water resources—issues that are increasingly impacting desert communities.

They also highlighted her ability to work directly with residents and stakeholders as a key asset in implementing long-term sustainability strategies.

Fields is scheduled to officially begin her new role on April 20, where she will help guide the city’s environmental policies and programs moving forward.
