Palm Springs Residents Weigh In on Fire Station One Modernization Plans

Residents in Palm Springs had the chance to weigh in on the future of Fire Station One during a community open house focused on proposed modernization plans.

The event, held from 4 to 6 p.m., invited attendees to tour the facility, meet with fire officials, and learn more about potential upgrades to the station. Visitors also had the opportunity to share feedback, particularly on plans that have sparked discussion around nearby parking changes.

Fire Chief Paul Alvarado and other department members were on hand to present conceptual designs and outline possible improvements. Officials emphasized that community input will play a key role in shaping the final plans.

City leaders described the meeting as part of an ongoing dialogue with residents, noting it is just the second in a series of planned discussions. They encouraged continued engagement as the project evolves, highlighting the importance of collaboration in planning for both the fire department’s future and the broader needs of the city.

Residents who were unable to attend can still review project details and provide input online through the city’s engagement platform.
