Rep. Raul Ruiz Hosts Palm Desert Roundtable on Rising Prices and Economic Impact

Congressman Raul Ruiz brought together local leaders, small business owners, and chamber representatives for a roundtable discussion focused on rising prices and their impact across the Coachella Valley.

The meeting, held at his Palm Desert office, gave attendees the opportunity to share firsthand experiences about how increasing costs are affecting both businesses and working families. Participants discussed challenges ranging from higher operational expenses to the strain on household budgets.

Ruiz emphasized the importance of listening directly to constituents, saying these conversations help shape his efforts at the federal level.

“My job is to listen and to understand what my constituents and our local small businesses are going through so that I can take their sentiment and fight for them in Washington, D.C.,” Ruiz said.

He added that hearing these concerns in person strengthens his ability to advocate for meaningful solutions.

“And doing these roundtables really empowers me passionately to go and fight for them because I understand what they’re going through,” he said.

Organizers say the goal moving forward is to evaluate what actions Congress can take to improve financial stability and economic security for working families.

The discussion is part of ongoing efforts to address inflation and support local economies throughout Riverside County.
