N. Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs Closed, N. Indian Canyon Open

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, North Gene Autry Trail is closed at the wash between Salvia Road and Villa Escuela.

Meanwhile, North Indian Canyon Drive has since reopened as of around 10:30 a.m.

Officials say the closure is due to dangerous driving conditions created by blowing sand and reduced visibility, which can quickly make roads unsafe.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including East Vista Chino, Dinah Shore Drive, Ramon Road, and Highway 111, to get around the area.

Authorities say they will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as visibility improves.
