Palm Springs International ShortFest Returns for 32nd Year
The Palm Springs International ShortFest is coming back this summer, running June 23 through 29 at the Festival Theaters in Palm Springs. Now in its 32nd year, the festival is one of the largest short film showcases in North America and serves as a qualifying event for the Oscars, BAFTA, and other major awards.
The festival is sponsored by the City of Palm Springs, with the Hilton Palm Springs serving as the official host hotel for filmmakers and guests. The Hilton will also host the ShortFest Forum, a series of panels and classes featuring industry professionals and filmmakers.
ShortFest has a track record of launching careers. Alumni include directors Ava DuVernay, Denis Villeneuve, Taika Waititi, and Emerald Fennell. Last year's festival featured Oscar-winning and nominated short films and drew talent including Haley Joel Osment and Pauline Chalamet.
