Pennies, Puddles, and Pop Quizzes: April Fool's Day Is Packed With Holidays Worth Celebrating
What's on the holiday calendar today? Buckle up, because April 1st is absolutely stacked.
International Fun at Work Day falls on April Fool's Day every year, and honestly, what better way to celebrate than a morning pop quiz on live television? We couldn't agree more.
National One-Cent Day is also on the calendar, honoring the very first one-cent piece, which was designed by none other than Benjamin Franklin and minted all the way back in 1787. The coin's obverse featured a sundial and the phrase "Mind Your Business," which, frankly, still holds up. And yes, the penny may be on its way out, but that doesn't mean we can't tip our hats to a classic.
National Jump in Muddy Puddles Day is here, and if you have a little one at home, you probably already know exactly which beloved British animated preschool series inspired this one. Hint: it involves a very famous pig family. Go ahead and jump in.
And rounding out today's calendar, National Walking Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday in April every year. It's a simple reminder that putting one foot in front of the other is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay healthy. El Paseo and downtown Palm Springs certainly make for some beautiful routes.
