An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, April 2, 2026!

A Wind Advisory has been posted for the Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, area mountains and parts of the High Desert through this evening because of strong, gusty on-shore winds.

Also -- because of expected windblown dust and dirt -- an Air Quality Alert has been issued for the Coachella Valley through tonight.

You can expect Westerly winds to be at their strongest this afternoon and evening, followed by a wind shift when Northeasterly winds will become gusty Friday morning.

As far as Valley temperatures are concerned, our midday numbers will hover in the middle-80s today and tomorrow... very close to normal for this time of year.
