Cathedral City Hosts Free Family Fitness Festival This Saturday

Cathedral City is hosting a free Family Fitness Festival this Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Community Amphitheater at 68526 Avenue Lalo Guerrero, and the whole family is invited.
The event, put on by the Cathedral City Parks and Community Events Commission alongside the Desert Recreation District, is built around movement, wellness, and community, with a full morning of fitness classes led by local instructors. Classes are free and open to all fitness levels, and several are offered bilingually in English and Spanish.
The workout lineup kicks off at 9 a.m. with a bilingual workout led by Jaime Jimenez of 111 Conditioning Club, followed by mat pilates and dance cardio with VXN Fitness. At 10:30 a.m., our own Kai Beech from the NBC Palm Springs newsroom takes the stage to lead a workout, representing Orangetheory Fitness, before family yoga with Carl Grant of Power Yoga Palm Springs at 11 a.m. A sound bath follows at 11:30, with a community connection hour wrapping things up at noon.
Kids will have plenty to keep them busy too. The Desert Recreation District is organizing a spring-themed activity zone timed to Easter weekend, featuring an egg and spoon fitness relay, a spring obstacle course, a bunny hop sack race, freeze dance, a golden egg fitness scavenger hunt, and a bubble movement zone designed for younger children. Families will also have the chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny.
The festival is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
