Desert Wildlife Center Hosting “Baby Shower” for Injured Animals Today

A unique event this morning is giving the community a chance to help care for local wildlife in need.

The Desert Wildlife Center is hosting a “baby shower” to support orphaned and injured animals in their care. The event takes place starting at 11 a.m. this morning at their Van Buren Street location in Indio, running until 4 p.m.

Community members are invited to stop by and donate much-needed supplies listed on the organization’s wish list, which also includes items requested by the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

For those unable to attend in person, donations can also be shipped directly through the center’s Amazon wish list.

Organizers say every contribution helps provide critical care for vulnerable wildlife, especially during the busy spring season when young animals are most in need.

Our NBC Palm Springs Digital Reporter, Thalia Hayden, will be out there during our midday newscast with more on what the Desert Wildlife Center does to support local animals in need.
