Fast-Moving Springs Fire Burns Thousands of Acres in Moreno Valley
A fast-moving brush fire is burning through parts of Moreno Valley, scorching more than 3,500 acres and forcing evacuation orders and warnings for nearby residents.
Fire officials say the blaze is only about 5% contained as crews continue working aggressively to slow its spread. The fire is being driven by strong Santa Ana winds, which are creating challenging conditions for firefighters both on the ground and in the air.
Multiple evacuation shelters have been set up for residents and their animals as a precaution. Authorities are urging those in affected areas to stay updated on evacuation orders and warnings through CAL FIRE.
The fire is also impacting travel, with significant slowdowns reported along State Route 60 near the burn area. Drivers are being advised to use caution and expect delays.
Emergency crews remain actively engaged in containment efforts, deploying both aerial and ground resources. Officials say conditions are evolving quickly, and updates will continue as firefighters work to gain control of the blaze.
