Deputy Injured in Crash at Highway 111 and Cook Street

An investigation is underway following an officer-involved crash in Indian Wells.

The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 111 and Cook Street.

According to authorities, a motorcycle deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department collided with a Volvo SUV that was slowing to a stop.

The deputy was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. No other injuries have been reported.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation alongside the sheriff’s department.

Officials have not released additional details as they work to determine exactly what led to the crash.
