An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, April 9, 2026!

The Coachella Valley will be under sheets of thickening high clouds today with gusty afternoon/evening winds and slightly above-normal high temperatures in the lower-90s.

We'll be under a mix of Sun and clouds on Friday with closer-to-normal midday highs in the upper-80s.

A couple of low pressure centers will moves over the Southwest this weekend bringing with them gusty on-shore winds, cooler temps and the chance of precipitation.

While widely scattered light showers are likely over mountains and from the Inland Empire to the Coast both days, the chance of showers remains low for the Coachella Valley.

A few sprinkles are possible on the West end of the Valley on Saturday, while a few showers with light accumulations in the hundredths-of-an-inch are forecast for your Sunday.
