Pet of the Week: Kane & Friends from Palm Springs Animal Shelter

Dan Rossi from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter stopped by the NBC Palm Springs studio this week with a very energetic guest, Kane, a 3-year-old pug mix with a personality that is anything but small. Transferred in from Desert Hot Springs just last week, Kane already has volunteers and staff wrapped around his little paw. He is neutered and ready for adoption, and he is looking for an active family that can keep up with his boundless energy and love of walks.

Also available for adoption at the shelter this week are three dogs who each have their own special story.

Lady is a 2-year-old shepherd mix, housetrained and good on leash, who has been with the shelter since January. She is making steady progress every day and would do best as the only dog in a calm, patient home.

Princess P is a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix who came in as a stray in January and has been an easy favorite ever since. She is affectionate, social, great with new people, and loves toys and playtime. She has done well with some other dogs, so a meet and greet is recommended to find the right fit.

Reptar is a 5-year-old mixed breed, believed to be part Chow and Shepherd, and he is the last remaining dog from a hoarding case the shelter took in over a year ago. He is shy at first but becomes deeply loyal and devoted once he trusts you.

The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is also currently running two Amazon wish lists, one for kitten season supplies and a new Stress-Less wish list featuring items like music speakers and supplements to help keep the animals calm and comfortable. You can find both lists at psanimalshelter.org under the Giving category.
