Suspect Arrested in 2022 Desert Hot Springs Homicide
A major break in a years-old homicide case has led to an arrest in Desert Hot Springs.
Desert Hot Springs Police says 28-year-old Camilo Castillo has been taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder. His bail has been set at $1 million.
The case dates back to July 2022, when officers responded to a shooting and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Investigators say the case had gone cold until new evidence recently emerged, allowing detectives to identify Castillo as a suspect.
Authorities confirm the investigation remains ongoing as they continue to gather information related to the case.
