Amazon Expands Mississippi Investment to $25 Billion with New Data Center Projects

Amazon is significantly expanding its footprint in Mississippi, with a new multi-billion-dollar investment announced by Governor Tate Reeves.
The company plans to invest an additional $12 billion in the state, bringing its total investment to $25 billion. The expansion includes an $11 billion upgrade to an existing data center in Madison County, along with a separate $1 billion project in Clinton.
These new developments build on earlier projects announced in 2024, including a $3 billion investment in Vicksburg, further strengthening Amazon’s presence across the state.
State leaders say the projects are expected to focus heavily on artificial intelligence infrastructure and cloud computing—two rapidly growing sectors in the tech industry.
Amazon also says the expansion will create more than 2,000 jobs statewide, providing a boost to the local economy and workforce.
Officials are calling the investment a major win for Mississippi, positioning the state as a growing hub for advanced technology and digital infrastructure.
