Indian Wells Reports Record Attendance and Economic Boost from BNP Paribas Open
The City of Indian Wells has released new data highlighting the impact of this year’s BNP Paribas Open, reporting record engagement and strong economic activity tied to the event.
Officials say the tournament welcomed more than 527,000 fans over its run, along with 336 players representing 55 countries. The event continues to be one of the largest and most significant stops on the professional tennis calendar.
This year’s competition also awarded more than $20 million in prize money, reflecting the tournament’s continued growth and global stature. Organizers additionally reported a 39% increase in coverage and engagement through partners including Tennis Channel.
Local officials noted that merchandise, food, and beverage sales also saw notable increases, underscoring the event’s broader economic impact on the Coachella Valley region.
City leaders say the results reinforce the BNP Paribas Open’s role as a major driver of tourism and economic activity in Indian Wells, drawing international attention while supporting local businesses throughout the desert.
