Coachella Valley Students Explore Hospitality Careers at Indian Wells Event
Roughly 120 high school sophomores from across the Coachella Valley got a firsthand look at potential careers in the hospitality industry during a hands-on student event held in Indian Wells.
The Greater Palm Springs Tourism Foundation hosted its Student Hospitality Day at the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa, giving students an interactive introduction to hotel operations, culinary arts, event planning, and tourism management.
Organizers say the goal of the program is to connect young people with real-world career pathways in one of the region’s largest industries. Students learned about opportunities for internships, certifications, and scholarships designed to help them enter the hospitality workforce locally.
Education and tourism leaders say events like this help strengthen the pipeline between schools and industry, giving students a clearer understanding of the skills needed to succeed in hospitality careers while keeping talent within the Coachella Valley.
