The first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has wrapped up, with law enforcement reporting a largely safe and orderly event in Indio.
According to Indio Police, the festival was well attended, with most attendees following rules and helping maintain a safe environment throughout the weekend.
Officers reported a total of 97 arrests, with the majority related to drug possession and the use of false identification.
In addition to arrests, authorities issued more than 30 citations tied to the misuse of disabled parking placards, highlighting ongoing enforcement efforts around accessibility and proper use of designated spaces.
Despite the enforcement activity, officials say the overall tone of the weekend was positive, crediting festivalgoers for cooperating with safety measures and following guidelines.
Law enforcement agencies also thanked partner organizations and the public for contributing to what they described as a safe and successful first weekend.
