New Accuser Comes Forward Against Eric Swalwell as Allegations Mount

A new accuser has come forward with serious allegations against former congressman Eric Swalwell, further escalating the legal challenges surrounding him.

At a press conference, Lonna Drewes alleged that Swalwell sexually assaulted her in 2018 at a hotel in the Los Angeles area. Drewes, alongside her attorney Lisa Bloom, said they plan to report the allegations to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Drewes claims she met Swalwell socially and that he offered to connect her with potential investors for her business. She alleges that during a later meeting, she became incapacitated and was assaulted in his hotel room. She said she did not report the incident at the time but disclosed it to people close to her.

Her legal team has not publicly released corroborating evidence, stating that details will first be provided to investigators. The allegations have not been independently verified.

Swalwell has denied all claims. His attorney said in a statement that he “categorically and unequivocally denies each and every allegation of sexual misconduct and assault.”

The accusation adds to previous claims made by a former staffer and other women, including allegations of misconduct and inappropriate communications. In recent days, the controversy prompted Swalwell to withdraw from the California governor’s race and resign his congressional seat.

The situation is now shifting toward a legal battle as investigations are expected to move forward.
