Braille Institute to Break Ground on New Rancho Mirage Vision Care Center
A new resource for residents experiencing vision loss is set to take shape in Rancho Mirage as the Braille Institute prepares to break ground on a new Coachella Valley center on May 6.
The planned 52,000-square-foot facility will expand access to free services designed to support individuals with low vision or blindness. Offerings will include low-vision care, assistive technology training, counseling, and independent living skills programs.
Officials say the new center is being developed in response to growing demand in the region, where a significant portion of the population is over the age of 65 and more likely to experience vision-related conditions.
Once completed later this year, the facility is expected to serve as a major hub for vision support services in the Coachella Valley, helping residents maintain independence and improve quality of life.
