Truck Fire and Crash Snarl Traffic Across Coachella Valley
Drivers across the Coachella Valley are dealing with multiple traffic incidents causing delays and concern.
A truck fire on the westbound side of Interstate 10 near the Jefferson Street exit slowed traffic during the evening commute. The fire was reported around 5:20 p.m., with crews from CAL FIRE responding quickly to extinguish the flames. Officials have not yet confirmed whether there were any injuries, and updates are pending.
Meanwhile, in Palm Desert, authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred earlier in the afternoon. A pickup truck collided with a sedan at the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Warner Trail, near Gerald Ford Elementary School.
Emergency crews, including firefighters and sheriff’s deputies, responded to the scene and were seen treating at least one person. However, officials have not released details regarding the severity of injuries.
Both incidents remain under investigation as authorities work to gather more information and clear impacted roadways.
