CSUSB Palm Desert Students Return from Study Abroad in Europe

Students from the Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus are back in the Coachella Valley after an immersive study abroad program across Europe.

The group traveled through Switzerland and Italy, where they studied how culture, sustainability and leadership influence the global hospitality industry.

One of the highlights of the trip included a visit to the United Nations in Geneva, giving students a firsthand look at global diplomacy and international cooperation.

In Italy, students visited Florence and toured the Ferrari Museum, experiences that blended cultural history with modern tourism and business innovation.

Participants say the trip transformed their perspective, reinforcing that hospitality is rooted in empathy and prioritizing the needs of others.

Educators say immersive experiences like these help students connect classroom learning with real-world global industries and broaden their understanding of leadership and service.
