Orange County mom reunites with paramedic who delivered her baby on freeway

A special and emotional reunion took place in Orange County as a mother came face-to-face with the paramedic who helped deliver her baby in a moment of crisis.

Yesenia Avila visited a fire station in Garden Grove to thank Fire Captain Greg Williams and his team after they helped bring her baby into the world under extraordinary circumstances.

Avila went into labor at 38 weeks while being driven to the hospital by her sister-in-law. As contractions intensified, they called 911 and were forced to pull over on the freeway in the middle of rush hour traffic.

That’s when paramedics arrived and quickly took action, moving Avila into the ambulance where the situation rapidly escalated.

Within minutes, baby Emmerich was born safely inside the ambulance, thanks to the quick response and expertise of the emergency crew.

The reunion was filled with gratitude and emotion as Avila and her family thanked the first responders who helped guide them through a stressful and unforgettable experience.

Mom and baby are now doing well, and the moment serves as a reminder of the critical role first responders play in life’s most unexpected situations.
